I am trying to trouble shoot a co-workers machine. It is displaying the text very strangely.

Heres an image:

Any ideas? Ive started w/no ext off, trashed many prefs, dumped PRAM, and tried a different monitor&cable.

At this point, it seems like something deep in the system is screwed or a HW problem.

Help.

I just looked at my post and realized that it might not be real evident what Im talking about from this image.

Look at the name of the selected volume 'Macintosh HD' (this is one of those users who has had a Mac for years and cant work the Apple Menu). Also, look at the 'M' in the folder-name to the left of the HD, the '1's int the Control Panel window, etc.

Any ideas?

Try checking the settings in the Appearance control panel.
