Ok, I'm wanting to get into making my own 2D animations.
I have the programs but what I'm looking for are either some good/cheap books or web tutorials that will teach me Flash MX and FreeHand.. So any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Last I checked, which was years ago, www.webmonkey.com had great tutorials for learning flash animation.

If you do get into it, PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DON"T MAKE BITMAP BASED FLASH ANIMATIONS!

You have to pay for them, but there are some free ones so you can get an idea of the programs. I like them because the guy teaching it runs OS X, so it is nice to watch the video and then it look exactly the same when you go to do it, instead of watching a windows tutorial and trying to guess where they put some of the things at on the Mac. Videos are also pretty high quality.
