I'm saying that I know that even the best voice-to-text software makes frequent mistakes, which means manual transcription if you want accuracy.

Well would it not be better to at least have a flawed transcript that an intern could be whip up into shape?

Ah, forgot Google! no need for this forum! Anyway, Google voice is a voice service, not a software, so I'm still at square one with this thread.

Hey, who needs Google search.

We have this forum and I'm too lazy to search on Google for 'Google Voice for transcribing".

No need to be snippy. Google hasn't yet come out with Google Advice so that's what we're here for.

Google Advice was out 10 years ago.

It was called Google Answers.

Please remember that there are "one party states" and "two party states."

Depending on where you live, you either just need the permission of ONE participant to record a phone call, or you may need the prior permission of ALL parties on the phone call.

For example, if you record a phone call without telling the other person, and you both live in New York, then you haven't done anything wrong. But if you try the same thing in Florida, you can literally go to jail. I believe a large part of the reason such recording and transcoding apps are rare is that there is simply too much potential for abuse, since the laws are rather complicated.

Also, please note that there is no such thing as a "zero party state." If you try to record a phone call you are not a party to, that is illegal everywhere. I understand that no one in this thread was proposing doing that, but I just wanted to mention that because people sometimes wildly misinterpret things I type on the Internet.
