I took the plunge and switched to Apple last week, and so far almost everythihng has been great.

I really like the ibook, but just today I noticed a series of marks on the screeen from the keyboard. Before I ruin something, what do people recommend for cleaning the screen of these marks?

Thanks

No! Don't use Windex unless you want to seriously do damage to the LCD. Use a water-soaked soft cloth or special LCD cleaner. There are threads on how to clean an LCD and what to clean them with. However, don't use window cleaner.

Right, never use Windex or anything with chemicals to clean the screen.
If you want to prevent marks from coming back, check out www.drbott.com They carry a keyboard cover that will protect the screen from such marks for under $10.

I have always used plain old H2O and a soft cloth and it works just fine for me.

Another screen protector option is a leather keyboard cover from J.R. Hill. It was slightly larger than the others I considered and that little bit extra protection makes positioning it very quick.

Apple recommends KlearScreen, which I prefer, or the damp soft cloth mentioned above.

Again, do NOT use Windex. Ammonia and alcohol can dissolve the coating on some lenses and LCD screens.

Until we get a 3 lbs sub-PowerBook, the 12-inch PowerBook will do.
