It seems like the greatest AV encoder ever, but I can't do a single thing with it. Anyone familiar with it?

HI! I've had a go at this, attempting to copy an mpeg movie to make a vcd... now I can't claim any success yet! -but The Man ([email protected]) will answer your emails- very helpful & friendly, as well as a bit clever -my lack of success has to be down to my own lack of knowledge & persistence, I reckon! If you get anywhere, maybe you can help me... another site which may be of use to you is vcdhelp.com.

what do you want to do? I use it frequently to convert my Sony DVMC-DA2 captured movies into a number of other formats. It works great.

Well... I wouldn't've thought I was being that ambitious- I want to make vcds of some QT movies -3-4 minute music vids, very low quality, which I've copied via Limewire- but I can't understand "sample rate" -the Qt info window gives me, say, 137kb/s,& 00:03:22.27 as time- if I put this into ffmpeg it says something like it can't calculate this as a figure.

perhaps you can be more specific. for starters, I don't see any mention of "sample rate" in ffmpegX. Also you give a bitrate and a duration, and you say you put this into ffmpeg. which did you put in? where?

also you should know that these video will look a lot worse on a VCD than they will on your computer. if they already look bad, do yourself a favor and stop now...
