Thank you very much. Hiding it isn't so bad, it just fades back in on rollover. But practicality, I guess, varies upon every user.

If enough people are interested, sure why not. And if anybody more experience with making themes is interested, it would be nice to get some feedback and advice. I haven't really been making themes for too long.

Sigh...

Anyway, strange that Dictionary.com lists 'minimalistic' whilst Sherlock (allegedly powered by said website) doesn't.

I'm sure you guys know it. Its a program called MenuShade. It allows you to recolor your menubar. Just set opacity for inactive to 0 and opacity for active to 100%.

Menu Shade let's you play with the menu bar color but what I'd really like to see is a transparent menubar with whatever desktop picture color filling the entire screen as can be seen for a brief time when logging out-in.....

I'd like to see that too. It wouldn't be too difficult to do. It could operate under the same style that menushade would except replace it with an image of the top of the wallpaper instead of just a solid color image.

Of course, if one could make a program so it actually hides instead of these clever little tricks, i would be forever grateful.

Haha, and I guess what goes around comes around =O) I'm honored to have inspired you.

Btw, what app/widget is that displaying date/time at the bottom of the screen? I've been looking for a fully-customizable one for a while now.

another thing to try with the menubar is this

u have to play with it, see if it's useful at all.
hides the menubar until you mouse over the top of the screen

have fun!

Definitely NOT useful. Only works when the app is in focus. Again, I sure wish that someone would make BarMaid better

if you like how your desktop is, then why care what others think? its good to be unique and try different things, rather than copying the "popular people". it helps people find out what works or doesn't work for them.

posting snapshots helps people. i for one, would have never gotten dragthing or an itunes menu bar controller, if it wasn't for snapshots.

The base is contained in the Al-Book theme from XiAP Studios and the status icons can be gotten from macthemes.net releases forum. They are a mod of esXXi's icons.
