Ok, maybe not a massive delay, but if I click on connect, I get a delay of about 7 seconds before my modem picks up the line, then a few seconds before it decides to actually start dialling.

I also get this on my iBook dual USB.

Is ther anything I can do to get rid of these delays?

Will

In osx?
Same here.
There's nothing you can do about it.
Mac Pro 8x2.8 | Macbook 2.13 | Saab Trionic 7 (thats right, runs on a 68k!)

No I'm still in OS9.2, waiting for the 10.1 disc to arrive.

Boo Hoo - Windows does not do that - thankfully MacOS makes up for it in other ways.
