Hello All,

My mother, that is 8 hours away, has an Emac that is about 2 years old. It was running fine until about 3 weeks ago when it began to lock up while she was doing simple things, i.e. safari, email, word, etc.

I had them replace the ram, but that didnt fix it, if nothing, made it worse.

I upgraded it from Panther to a current version of Tiger.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

It started locking up after you changed the OS?
I use X 10.2.4 on this emac and X 10.4.2 on my other emac and I see very little difference to push me to upgrade either of them. I'd go back to Panther so she can use the computer, I doubt that she does much gaming.
If you absolutely have to have her on Tiger, do a clean wipe of everything (everything), so there's no little bits & pieces in there to cause a problem.
