Today Quark Software Inc. unveiled QuarkXPress 2015, the next major version of Quark's design and layout tool for print and digital publishing. Coming in the first quarter of next year, Quark promises that QuarkXPress 2015 will deliver increased performance with a new 64-bit architecture, efficient print and digital production, and many of the most user-requested features. The new version of QuarkXPress will continue to be sold as a perpetual license as opposed to a subscription service.
New features included in the QuarkXPress 2015 release are larger page sizes, a dedicated orthogonal line tool, fixed layout interactive eBook generation, custom paper sizes, user definable shortcut keys, table styles, a format painter, enhanced tool palettes on Windows, and full OS X 10.10 Yosemite support.
For current QuarkXPress 10 users, Quark is offering an introductory price on pre-orders of QuarkXPress 2015 upgrades. The special price for the pre-order upgrade is $249, lower than the current upgrade price.
In anticipation of the availability of QuarkXPress 2015, Quark has launched the Buy QuarkXPress 10, Get QuarkXPress 2015 promotion. Everyone who purchases or upgrades to QuarkXPress 10 between October 28, 2014 and December 31, 2014 will receive a completely free upgrade to QuarkXPress 2015 when it is available. Customers who purchased QuarkXPress 10 in October 2014 prior to the start of the promotion can also take advantage of the Buy QuarkXPress 10, Get QuarkXPress 2015 offer.

I appreciate Quark's stance on having to rent the software vs buying the software. Sadly, Quark fell behind years ago with their attitude towards customers. After InDesign 2 Adobe had made enough improvements to take over. I still don't want to do the cloud and have some random machine deciding if my software is authorized. Lets not even talk about security of personal data when it comes to Adobe but then again, is any corporation secure anymore?

robttwo, totally agree. Holy crap, is Quark's head buried that far in the sand? I stopped using them eons ago because of things like this: they are just now getting around to updating to things they should have had a couple years ago. You mean I can look forward to upgrading to Quark so they will support the OS that has been out for six months? Jackasses.

Ridley, and then they blame the end user for the faults of their program or they famously tell people to switch platforms if they don't like it. Although Fred Ebrahimi is no longer there the attitude still is.
