C'mon, someone had to do it :-)
Now that OmniWeb 4.1 is finally out (<a href="http://forums.macnn.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=37;t=003899" target="_blank">discuss amongst yourselves</a>) it's time to look forward to 5.0.
Of course I'm guessing that it'll be a bit until we see little sp droppings, but it'll be soooooo good.
Rickster, et alia, thanks so much for the 4.1sp family and we're excited about seeing 5.0sp1 hit the doors! YGFR!

hot DAMN 5.0 sp 1 is already out!
And this thing as fast as hell! No more slow table rendering! I'm amazed at what you guys have done!
It's very crash prone and leaking memory like no tomorrow, but it shows incredible potential.

Nasrudin sat on a river bank when someone shouted to him from the opposite side: "Hey! how do I get across?" "You are across!" Nasrudin shouted back.

The CSS/Javascript/popup/rollovers on my bank's secure page don't align correctly in OW 5 SP 1! This app is CR@P! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />
Seriously, can't we give it a 10 minute break?
OTOH, if we start now, we can get this thread up to 1655 posts by the time 5.0 final is out.

Wow, who peed in your corn flakes this morning?
[I know Guy is annoyed because OW keeps blowing up on his machine, but did everyone else take a downer today? Between the sun outside, gardening, my kids, and OW 4.1, it's been a great day!]
I started this thread so we'd have a home as 5.0 became reality, not as a joke thread. (Actually I didn't see the other thread, or I wouldn't have started this one.)
I'm slowly going through my list of broken sites and when I find one that doesn't work in 4.1 I'll post it here, and hopefully as 5.0 sps appear I'll (we'll) be able to check them off. I see others have started to do the same here.
Didn't anyone ever mention that if you're not part of the solution then you're part of the problem? I know there's great power in aimlessly bitching and whining, but you guys overdo it, even for the Internet. Sheesh!

I don't think there will be _any_ world ills it won't cure. If only 4.1 can hold off the marauding forces of Mozilla/Chimera for long enough...

Okay, here's another <a href="http://www.worldtravelcenter.com/eng/information/travelex/tx_travel/qq_travel.cfm" target="_blank">page</a> [worldtravelcenter.com] which doesn't work in 4.1. The day-of-month pull-down seems to always return to 1 (for me at least).
Oh, and I've noticed lots of broken image icons while surfing through MacNN, something I didn't see in 4.1sp91.

While it's going to be a long time before we see any sneaky peeks, and hopefully a week or two before they buckle down again, here's one little thing I hope they include in 5.0.
A priority lightning bolt. A few different levels might be good, but even just one different priority would be nice. I, and by reading the boards, lots of other people use the "check for updates" for lots of daily sites. Be they news, comics or something else, they're stuff that's updated pretty much every day. OW makes it really easy to keep abreast of those sites. What would be nice if you could check a little box in the bookmark prefs to have it be a "blue lightning" check for updates. Basically, if one of those sites were updated the lightning bolt in the dock would be blue. That would tip you off that a special site (probably one that didn't regularly update) had updated. You get kind of desensitized to the green bolt when the daily sites keep it up around 20. So instead of having to click and hold on the dock icon and scan through all the listed sites periodically it would be nice if the bolt just changed colors.

I think everyone really underestimates the value of having a browser (or any application) designed specifically for OS X. It adds so many small things that add up to a good experience. Not to mention, OW is multi-threaded. Sitting here at work on a (Dude! You're Getting a) Dell it makes me cry when the whole machine stops responding (can't even move the mouse) when I open up a thread on these forums.

As far as bloat goes, I'm on a 56k modem - and a 3.something megabyte download for OmniWeb sounds a lot better to me than a 17.something megabyte one for Mozilla.
I like the Gecko engine of Mozilla, just not the interface. I hold hope for Chimera, but it's got a ways to go before I can use it day-to-day.
