Hi, I just started using iTools and am wondering if there is a way to rename the actual file names based on the information in the ID3 tags? Right now I have a bunch of songs from CDs named BS01-01.mp3 that I would like to change to something like Black_Sabbath-Wheels_of_Confusion.mp3.
Any help would be appreciated.

You cannot do this with iTunes, as far as i know, but there is some little freeware app that does this: AudiferousID3. worked fine for me

I prefer ID3X. You do have to register it to get the batch renaming feature, but if you find uses for the many other great features in it , then the registration is worth it.

I use Mp3 Rage and I like all the batch renaming features in it. It also allows you to alter the renaming schemes to exclude characters, move "the" to the end, etc...

You can do this within iTunes using Rename Files 1.1 by Randall Million. This and other iTunes scripts can be found at Doug's Applescripts - www.malcolmadams.com/itunes. It's worked well for me.
