I am trying to set up a kids account that would have applications that would be restricted. When I do this I am not able to log in as that person. I am trying to turn off certain applications. At this point the only way to move on is to Control-Comand-Power to do a restart. This is too much troble.

Oh, by the way this is on a new iBook with 10.2.8 & 640 MB Ram.

Any help would be great.
Thanks,
West

Wild, I've done this a few times and it's worked perfectly...all I've done is login as an 'admin' user and make the changes to the corresponding kids/student account and click apply...

That is exactly what I did logged in as the admin (Me). and then tried to do the changes and it would never log in. Very frustrating.

thanks

Trash the kids user you have and re-create another one maybe?
