Today Logitech announced the Logitech Create Keyboard Case for Apple's new iPad Pro, developed closely with Apple to utilize the new Smart Connector. As a result, Logitech will bring to market the first ever third-party keyboard compatible with the iPad Pro Smart Connector.

Designed to work exclusively with the new Smart Connector, the Create keyboard automatically powers on and pairs with your iPad Pro when placed in the typing position with no Bluetooth pairing needed. As with the Apple-sold keyboard, Logitech's offering is powered directly by the iPad Pro. The keyboard layout and full-size keys makes typing easier than on a compact keyboard, and helps users take full advantage of the iPad Pro's workspace and new iOS 9 features. The case offers thin and lightweight protection, and the tightly-woven fabric helps resist accidental bumps, scratches and spills.

The Logitech Create Keyboard Case for iPad Pro will be available in the U.S., and select countries in Europe and Asia at the same time the iPad Pro is available for purchase. Additional product information and pricing will be available on Logitech's website in the coming weeks.

If it's $140 or less, I'll take it compared to the $170 Apple is charging for their model.

Wow, that was quick. The Logitech keyboard looks quite attractive. Since not everyone likes the feel of Apple's new keyboards, I hope Logitech makes theirs have a longer key travel distance. Also, Apple had to have cooperated with this product development, so hopefully that means they'll also allow other third-party products to compete with them. I'd also love to see other devices be able to charge through a Lightning port like Apple's new stylus.
