I just deleted a bit of stuff in the HTML code that (I think!) fixes the abnormally large space between the IP Logged image and the bottom of the post. Is it fine for everyone?

Unfortunately, no. Look (IE 5.1, Mac OS X):

Preferably, the IP logged icon should be on the same line as the last line of the signature (the URL in your case). Is that possible?

the only problem with the link i provided is that i used the <BR> tag for spacing (as one should) while UBB seems to use the <P> tag. any multiline post (which is almost all of them) will still have a space between the text and the IP icon as long as it keeps using the P tag for everything.

lesson for the day: P bad. DIV & BR good.

{edit}
looks like UBB does use BR for single breaks and P for double. i guess this is to make sure that people don't post one word and then 500 spaces of nothing. argh, annoying stuff.

i'm trying some solutions as we speak.

Thanks, Demonhood.

Just post whenever you find the solution you think is best, and I'll replace the code.

Why don't put it at the bottom of the left hand side (below "Registered:...")?

And it needs a BORDER="0" in the IMG tag like the other imgage links (profile, email...) have, Netscape 4.x does show a border now. Oh, and for priv_message3.gif there is a wrong BORDER='0' instead of BORDER="0"

i'll second the border="0" thing. i don't use netscape anymore, but there's no reason to have a blue border around everything.

i stylesheeted the whole thing at http://demonhood.com/macnn/testing.html
and the ip image is still creating too much space. outside of relocation, i don't see a way around this one.

i've also changed the little 'my profile', 'register', etc... links at the top. they're very hard to read in IE (72dpi 12pt default). so i changed them to 9pt arial just for fun.
