Using Firefox to go to my yahoo mail account I repeatedly get a message bar telling me I need plugin(s). I click the button to get the plugin(s) and it says none are found. The next time it's the same thing over again. Does anyone know what plugin(s) I need or a way to alter the settings so it won't look for it/them? Thanks.

What happens when you try via Safari?

Also, why aren't you just using the Mail app?

I have two yahoo emails so I have one in Safari and one in Firefox. I don't like the mail app. It isn't intuitive at least to me. Other than the plugin business the browser works well and easily.

You could try Thunderbird, Mozilla's mail app. I've also found that Chrome is fairly lightweight and responsive.

My wife gets the same plugin alert in Firefox when she goes to Gmail. As near as I can figure, it's the Flash plugin that needs updated.
Surprisingly, Google does use Flash in their Gmail interface, mostly for sounds.

I tried Thunderbird. It won't work. It tells me the password is invalid even though the exact same pw works fine when direct through Safari to yahoo mail.

You have to pay for Yahoo Mail Plus in order to use third-party clients to get Yahoo mail.

I finally got an option to get flash and installed it. I don't know why it told me no plugin for a couple dozen times in a row and then said oh get flash but it seems to have worked.

I have plenty of more important things to do, if only I could bring myself to do them....

When did that change? In the past, it was true but there was a workaround...is it true POP and/or IMAP access or kludged access?

You can GET Yahoo! mail with a POP3 client, but you still do have to pay to be able to SEND mail through a Yahoo! account with an email client.
