Hi, I'm new to macs, and was wondering if someone could help me with something.
Is there a key, or set of keys, i can hit that will jump me back to the desktop? Like say if i'm playing warcraft, and I don't want to quit the program, but just want to see something on my desktop for a second in windows, i can hit the windows key. Is there anything like that on the mac?
Thanks

I'm not much of a gamer, but it seems like command+tab will bring up the app switcher from most of my kid's games.

What version of Mac OS X are you using? In 10.3.x, you can use expose. The desktop key in Expose is F12 by default. Just press F12, and all the other windows slide of the screen so you can see the desktop.

Perhaps Warcraft does something different, but I have used Expos while in full screen 3D games before and it worked.
I don't believe Expos works in Classic though. If the game is in Classic, I'm not sure if it's possible to show the desktop (I remember I was never able to, playing games like Myth II).

Hmm, maybe its because my f11 in warcraft is a key that warcraft uses. Is there a way to let it know that I am trying to hit f11 for expose instead of the f11 in the game? like maybe holding the apple key and then f11 or something?
thanks

In Panther, go to System Preferences, then the Expose pane, and you can customize your key preferences for desktop viewing.
