Cool idea.
My plan for my old white iBook G3 when i'm finished with it is to turn it into some sort of media player. E.g DVD, Quicktime etc.
It would probably cost too much to turn it into a hdd recorder

You could attempt to do the same thing with yours and have it as a 'one of a kind' wall mounted LCD/Media combo thing.

update: i cleaned it up... no tape now. looks way better.
