Talk about being "pissed off"! This did not make Jerry Seinfeld happy:
https://autos.yahoo.com/blogs/motora...154037560.html
It's not like the woman blatantly ran into him. And, apparently, Jerry does not want to bother going through insurance to cover the damage.
Oh well, he'll just have to use another one of his Porsches. Tough life!

Poor Jerry. I've been in this situation twice, an elderly lady opened the door of her 70-something Ford LTD landyacht into my Gallardo, that was so minor that the scuff buffed out. The second time was a kid (she was 17) backing into my Dino 206GT, that almost made me cry (the girl who hit me balled her eyes out). That cost her insurance company ~$80k.

One of the nice things about driving a piece of shit is not giving a **** about collisions as long as the thing is still drivable afterwards.

Well, there are pieces of shit, and pieces of shit.
My Cherokee was the former until it hit about the 10 year mark.
I miss its larval piece of shit qualities.

My `71 Bronco, I've had it for over 20 years, has a strong Icon Derelict vibe going on with it (though it's been like this a lot longer than they've been around). It's sound as a pound, and the interior is nearly perfect, but the body is primered and dinged. I'm sure to some it looks like a POS, but that's the way I like it, it's the perfect workhorse.

Jerry gave out quite the gift here. Kept the accident off her record, and no huge charge to her insurance. I hope she appreciates it, and brushes up on her driving.
Regardless of Jerry's reason, kudos are in order.

Don't see what the types of seats were has anything to do with this thread. But, I guess there are always some narrow minded folks who don't know any better.

FINALLY, a post that makes sense, is relevant, back on topic, and has nothing to do with the types of seats inside the car.
Kudos, reader50! We need more sensible people like you around here.

Great timing for this thread, I guess. This morning someone dinged my `61 Alfa 2000 spider with a shopping cart, while I was in it, (legally) parked at Target. The cart got away from her, rolled 20', then hit my front passenger fender with a loud "thud", leaving a dent and a gouge in the paint. Then she tried to casually ignore the whole thing and drive off. Well, the fact that she did it didn't irk me nearly as much as her ignoring and then denying it. Finally she said, "Oh, I guess it did hit you" (really?) "but it didn't do any damage". Then I pointed out the 2" dent and the swapped paint that was now on the buggy and she replied, "Why are you making a federal case out of this, I said I was sorry", when in fact she hadn't apologized at all and I hadn't even raised my voice.
Well, that was it. I would have let it all go if she had at least behaved like a decent human being, but at that point her attitude pushed me over the edge, so I asked her for her insurance information so I could file it. At that point she freaked out and started ranting, raving, swearing, and said she'd had enough, then walked back to her car, climbed in, and then started to drive away. So, I walked to where I could see her plate and pulled out my phone to call police dispatch. At that point she climbed out of the car (blocking traffic), started swearing loudly, and asked "what in the f*** are you doing?" Well, by then the dispatch officer was on speakerphone, so I started telling him what happened, gave him her plate number, all the while she's going completely ballistic, screaming that she "didn't even do anything".
Within 3 minutes a cop pulls up, I know him, and before I can get a word in she's telling him that she hadn't done anything and that I'd even threatened to hurt her. So he asked for her ID and she claimed she'd left it at home (turned out her license is suspended), can't find her insurance paperwork (she's uninsured), and when he finally gets to the bottom of who she is based on her registration, he finds that there's a warrant out for her arrest for two counts each of failure to appear and contempt of court. In short order she was then arrested, cuffed, taken to jail, and her car was impounded.
Moral? Don't be an a$$hole. If she'd simply apologized and owned up to the mishap, I would have just let it slide. Now she's going to be spending tonight in a cell, and will likely get a few more days for her other charges, plus some major fines.

Kudos to you. This was presumably in morning daylight and that it happened right there while you witnessed it is quite the coincidence. If it was my previous junk car and that happened, I might have notified the police later and gotten the license plate, time of incident, etc. and not even bother speaking to her especially if she's stuck up with an attitude. But with a new/newish car (edit: or a "love of life classic" car) I would have flipped.

That's one of the things which irritate me about insurance companies. They say "do not admit fault".
**** that. If it's my fault, I'm saying it and apologizing profusely.
Also, if you hit someone, do not ask if they are okay. They are not okay. They were just in a car accident. Ask "are you hurt?"

GREAT job, Shaddim. Besides "catching her in the act", so to speak, in getting her to admit it was her fault (at least initially), you were also able to get someone that does not belong on the road (both legally and morally) off the road. Let's just hope she does not have any crazy friends who might come after you. One never knows in this crazy world!
I'm assuming you have Uninsured Motorists coverage, and that your insurance company will not "ding" you at all for this. It is a clear case of being that woman's fault, and your company would need to go after her to try and get any $$$ for the damage. (Hey, isn't that why we pay insurance premiums?)
