I have my Lexmark connected to my Airport BS. I'm trying to print with it, and the PB knows it's the Right Lexmark, but takes an extraordinary amount of time saying "ready to print." in the end, it doesn't print... or i don't let it go long enough... which is at least a few minutes.

Am i missing something? Is there a step I forgot?

I've got a Lexmark X75 connected to an Airport Extreme basestation and I get the same behavior (setup goes fine, but a print job never actually happens).

I'm running 10.2.4 and the AEBS has the latest firmware. I've tried printing from a 15" Tibook, a 12" Albook and a 17" Albook. They all see the printer via Rendezvous, but the print job just hangs on "ready to print". I hear the print head move about 15 seconds in and then nothing. It just hangs indefinitely with no error or anything.

Anyone know what the difference is between the list of "supported" printers on Apple's site and ones that aren't? I mean, the printer should receive the info through base station just as if it were plugged directly into the Powerbook, yes?

I've tried powercycling both devices (base station and printer). Also, I'm able to print just fine when directly connected via USB (i.e. - no base station).

Any help would be appreciated.

You could always give Gimp-Print a whirl.

I may try that. Although, someone at the Apple forum said that didn't work.

if you find a solution, I'd love to know... as i am having the same problem. i think that the lexmarks are not compatible with the Airport Extreme.

I'm running Gimp Print now and it doesn't seem to be faring much better. I can still add the printer, but print jobs never complete.
