I can't even see the front page of the store. My Login is correct, though. I made sure of that. I'm not even getting that far. Perhaps you are right, it's just being hammered.

I doubt that it is because it is getting hammered, most likely it is because they aren't done updating all of their servers yet.

I got in further, this time iTunes had to confirm (set up and store) my apple ID and info. Also confirms credit card info. I have the page to finish all that info and now i'm getting the error again.

You figured the store part shouldv'e been up and running before intro.

How are you even getting into the site? I get a brief glimpse of "entering" or something like that, which goes away in a second or so. Where's the "entry" point? And do you have to have itunes 4 installed even to look around?

I haven't been able to get anywhere beyond the home page for at least 45 minutes. So much for Job's assertions of "We have this nailed ..." and "... oceans of bits ...." blah blah blah.

All this hype, and the store is completely inaccessible during the grand opening. I can imagine Jobs is going to have someone's head on a platter over this!

The Music Store is dead for me, too. Make sure you send feedback to Apple (from the iTunes menu) about how ill-prepared they were for this launch.

I noticed this:

* Browsing and click from the front page are broken (Error 504).

BUT:
* Typing an artist or song in the Search Field, and hitting return, brings up search results instantly.
* Clicking on the found songs plays a preview, again, instantly, no problems at all.

* Because I haven't been able to enter my account info, I can't buy yet. Probably a good thing, or I'll end up with a bunch of stuff my pocketbook will regret later...

I have found this, too, but it's not that much fun when you can't buy. Also I couldn't find the soundtrack to "A Beautiful Mind". It's pretty new, so that suprises me a lot, and I can't even listen to previews. Hmph.

I'm not pissed and concluding Apple has failed. There's just no way to test a massive onsalught of people browsing the store--I'm sure they're doing the best they can. But I don't like waiting...

Same thing here, with the error 504. Seems like everyone is just itching to spend money. Hopefully, Apple will be prepared to accept it all soon. I love the new iTunes and iPods. I think this has been quite the revolutionary day.

I just purchased a song. It took forever to register and sign on, but I am now in business. Yeehaw! (No, I didn't buy any Country music. )

I did close and repoen iTunes. I doubt that really made a difference, but you might try it.

I started dloading Lose Yourself and then the dload quit and I got a "Error. Try again later" message.

But when I tried again, iTunes told me I had already dloaded the song....but I didn't get it! And now I'm wondering if I got charged for the dload.... Ugh.

Cancel that. iTunes has a Check for Purchased Music in the Advanced menu. It dloads music you paid for but didn't get on the initial attempt.
Dloading Lose Yourself right now.

I've not had much luck today either. Although, when I do a search I can get to pretty much everything.

One thing that continues to fail is on the sign up page - I've entered my current user ID and password and I get in fine and then on the billing page, it keeps telling me that the home phone needs to be a 7 digit number. I've entered it with and without a hyphen and NOTHING seems to work.

I'm boggled.

I've tried restarting and everything. This is so odd. I went to the Apple Store and checked my settings there and everything looks like it should work.

Now my problem is that when I try to sign in, it says that I need to review my account info, since my Apple ID hasn't been used with iTunes before. That's fine, but when I click Continue after verifying my account info, it acts as though I'm resetting my account info; it informs me that the password specified has been used in the past year, and to please select another. Of course it's been used in the past year! It's my current password! I tested it, and it does indeed currently work at http://connect.apple.com/.

Silly AppleMusic.

I guess I just need to wait until they get themselves straightened out.
