HELLO!

I have a PHILIPS PCRW804K17 CD BURNER (It's ROM vers 2.1) I justr bought some 16X BLACK CDS (compusa). When i try to write to them my computer locks up and I have to restart. As a test, i just wrote a cd with a regulat Silver blank CDR and it is working. Is my drive not able to use black cds? Anyone know anything about these CD-Rs?

Very strange.

Thanks

Hello!

The same files written out of Toast 5.02 at 4x worked on a silver CDR but it seams the drive has problems with the black. In fact, After restarting w/ the black cd inside, Toast didn't recognize a CD drive attacked. The green LED ion the drive was on and the orange LED was flashing. I had to put the power cable from the drive.

This drive was purchased this year so it isn't old.

I've never used black CDs before. When I say black I mean the reading surface. The plastic is solid black.
