I'm really frustrated by the fact that you can't get a USED minimal intel Mac mini for under 400 bucks. How long until this is the reality??

Never Apple sells products with high margins not extremely low margin items like a $400 Mac mini.

If you want a mini for $400 you're gonna have to go refurbished or used. We'd be rather lucky if Apple would offer a mini at the original $499 price tag again some day.

There is a 100$ off mail in rebate for minis at Microcenter - that should bring the price down to 499$. Beware though - they should be updating the mini to Core 2 Duo soon. At least I hope so

I'm sorry guys, I meant used. I know that Mac Minis are 600 new at least. What I mean is why is it so hard to find a used Mac Mini INTEL for under 400

I'm with ya. The other day we were looking to try and replace our Mom's old iMac (98 vintage) with a used rev a mini and a cheap monitor. Found out we could do way better getting her a G4 iMac.
The main issue is that there really aren't that many used minis available. At least, that was our experience.

Mac minis seem to hold their resale value amazingly well. Even the G4s are selling in the $400 range. I considered buying a used mini but the prices are so high I'm going to just wait for Apple's next upgrade and buy new.

There have been so few upgrade to the mini, that the oldest ones are still only one or two generations behind. Hence them holding their value so well. Once it's used, it doesn't matter if you bought it last week or last year, if its still a dual 1.66ghz model, its still equal to what is the current generation. I really wish apple would lower the price points though. $500 was a magic number that was great.

Hopefully Apple puts a Core 2 Duo in Mini which should bring the price down for the Core Duos
