Hello,
I have a small design studio and we are making custom modifications on Ipods. We have produced a line of 24K Gold Ipods and have started selling them on Ebay.
These are dipped by hand and polished to a mirror finish. They are not cheap, but if you want a truly unique Ipod check it out.

wow, and i thought replacement batteries were expensive! can't imagine leaving that on a bus seat, or dropping it

Honestly there's no point getting it becasue of the price, yet it would be good for a museum in 50 years time though...
