gofridge is happy to announce that the Chicago Bears have reached 700 wins with yesterday's defeat of the Jacksonville Jaguars. This is more wins than any other team in the history of the NFL, and it further confirms that the Bears are the best team ever.

In other good news, the Eagles won and the Packers lost yesterday.

If the Bears win again on Thursday, this will be the best week ever for gofridge.

I love the super descriptive thread title.
I don't care much about football, but it is nice to hear something good about a team from my home town when I am surrounded by new yorkers obsessed with the giants every day.

gofridge suggests that goturtle do some research before mocking gofridge. gofridge sees just as many Super Bowl appearances and victories for the Bears as the Packers.

gofridge hopes that SSharon will be happy to hear that it was the New York Giants that the Philadelphia Eagles defeated yesterday.

goturtle only mentioned the Super Bowl in goturtle's previous post. goturtle made no mention of NFL Championship games. The Bears and Packers have been to the Super Bowl twice each and won once each.

gofridge sees that Wikipedia is listing the Packers' two NFL-AFL Championship Game victories as Super Bowl victories. gofridge will use this to point out that Wikipedia cannot always be trusted as a research tool.

gofridge will once again point out that those two "Super Bowls" were NFL-AFL Championship Games. There was no Super Bowl until 1969.

gofridge wishes that people would not reach for straws in attempting to "prove" that Packers are better than the Bears. The Bears and Packers have been to and won an equal number of Super Bowls, but the Bears have won more games overall, so the Bears are a better team than the Packers.

Yes, they have more wins over all. I'm having trouble finding a website with up to date statistics, but the Bears have the most wins by a franchise at 700. The Packers are second in the mid to upper 600's.

More wins, but less won championships ?

Awesome

Well, I guess Bears fans will resort to *any* statistic to feel good about their team

gofridge thinks that it is pathetic that Packers fans pretend that the NFL-AFL Championship Games were Super Bowls to claim that the Packers have won more Super Bowls than the Bears.

gofridge is confused. How could anyone consider yesterday's game ugly? A game in which the Chicago Bears win is always a beautiful thing.

gofridge is confused again. gofridge thought that eight wins and six losses was a better record than five wins and eight losses.

if gojoewillie were here, he would remind gofridge that the Super Bowl in 1969 was marketed as "Super Bowl III", retroactively making the Packers two-time Super Bowl champions. I guarantee it!

Congratulations on 700 victories! (although I think 10,000 losses is more significant....)

The blatant interference non-call with 2 seconds left in regulation was ugly. I cannot believe the refs didn't call that one. As this was when I actually tuned into the game last night, I can't speak for how the game went up to that point, but I believe the refs said Chicago let the Aints come back from a 21-7 deficit at the end of the first half.

gofridge has always considered that revisionist history. gofridge maintains that the Packers have won only one Super Bowl.

Another good week for gofridge! The Bears win, the Eagles win and the Packers lose and are eliminated from playoff contention.

gofridge would have liked it if the Vikings had lost, making it easier for the Bears to make it into the playoffs, but gofridge believes that this is the Golden Calf testing gofridge's faith.

I'm happy that gofridge is so cheered up.

It's not easy to be a Bears fan.

See, the Packers rock, even when they lose. The Bears, however, suck even when they win.

The Bears are terrible.

They have no quarterback and a defense that is 5 years past it's pinnacle.

Suggesting a team is great based on past victories is like submitting your 2nd grade finger painting which you got an A on for your college thesis.

P.S. The Vikings are going to win out and the Bears will be on the outside looking in.

gofridge will enjoy watching the highlight video of the blocked field goal attempt all week.

700+7 club is coming in February.
