The Lackland AFB Exchange has the last version of both the 13" and 15" rMBP on the shelf. While the Exchange does not collect sales tax (it's a Federal installation after all), and that decreases the cost of anything bought by our lovely 8.25% rate, I'm not actually certain the prices are worth it. What would the appropriate price points be for these machines?

No input? Or is it that I just didn't provide specific model numbers? They had (listed, anyway) the standard 3 versions of both the 13" and 15" rMBP...

It may be moot. The Exchange is haveing a "no interest" financing special that should make whatever machines they have on hand more attractive by itself.

And I now find that online they have the current models - and they're in stock. Probably should have done my homework better, but I was sort of excited about this.

For the 13", I wouldn't pay more than $1000.
For the 15", I wouldn't pay more than $1500.
