... Macbook

I replaced a faulty superdrive, upgraded the hard drive, reset the pmu, and now the damn thing won't start up at all. No chime, no screen. It sounds dead, but I am getting power to the magsafe adapter & it does seem to be charging the battery. I made sure the orange cable was properly attached & the ram was seated properly. I'm a Mac Mini semi-expert, so this one has me stumped. I hope to hell I didn't somehow fry something on the motherboard! Anything else I can try?

Are you 100% positive the cable that connects to the top panel with the keyboard to the logic board is connected? It's pretty easy for that to become unhooked when putting it all back together at the final step.

Yes, I'm sure it's connected. In fact, I ordered a new top cover piece with a new keyboard. It doesn't boot with the new one either. Looks like the board went bad.

I don't think you want anybody to think that you killed your wife, so I've edited the title.

I just did a hard drive swap between my MacBook Pro and my wife's MacBook. I wanted to use her MacBook for a few weeks (but needed all my apps & documents) to see if I truly could be comfortable with the glossy 1280x800 screen since I ordered a MacBook Air. Pulling the MacBook's hard drive is of course a piece of cake. I was, however, a little nervous with stripping the MacBook Pro down to its skivvies to get at the hard drive. I was worried that something wouldn't work when I got it all back together. Fortunately, still works. And no parts left over.
