Alright,

I'm on the whole digital lifestyle kick. I've gone through vonage for the phone, itunes for music, iPhoto for pics. and all that... now I'm looking at Eye TV 200 instead of investing in a TiVo.

Any users here? I'm looking at getting either an iMac G5 in the fall or a G5 tower... Is there an advantage to the Eye TV over the TiVo? I know with TiVo you also have to pay monthly for their service (cheap but still a recurring cost)... Does EyeTV require the same charges or is it all handled through your local cable connection?

basically, is it worth the investment.

EyeTV is great. There is another current topic with more details, but, in summary, it is worth it. As far as the Tivo comparison, you have more control and flexibility with EyeTV recordings. Also, while TitanTV (a website) allows you to do remote programming and manage favorites, EyeTV can record programs weekly, daily, or however you set them.

These--along with others I may be forgetting--put EyeTV over Tivo in my opinion when comparing them based on price vs. performance.
