For some reason, Gmail has gone beserk and given people (myself included ) 50 invites!
I don't quite understand this, as I just haven't been able to find people who want them anymore.

I think they are upping the Beta stage in a big way. I got 50 invites as well and my wife (who just recently joined) went from 5 to 50 invites too. I couldn't give away the 6 I had, let alone 50. They just need to open this thing up to everyone already. 
That said, if anyone else still needs one, it seems everyone should have plenty to give away.

As can be seen from gmailomatic, with the number of invites being given to members increasing tenfold, so have the number of available invites. Before the weekend, invites were around 55,000ish; this morning, that number has pretty much doubled...
