I've been spending the last week trying to get gimp working on my iBook. I decided that I would try until Sunday, without asking for help. Unfortunately, the problem that plagued me on my first install of it, and the repeated installs after, will not go away. Whenever I type "gimp" into the terminal, it displays the following:

[john:~] johnm% gimp
dyld: gimp1.2 can't open library: /usr/local/lib/libdl.dylib (No such file or directory, errno = 2)

Aside from the obvious, what am I missing/doing wrong/misconfiguring?????? I should also not that I have tried both the download package an fink installs.

You need to launch XDarwin (assuming you installed it an XFree86) then from XTerm type gimp. If you didn't install XFree86 download macgimp at macgimp.org.

Well I already had XFree86 installed, and I was typing "gimp" into the XFree86 terminal shell...but I took your suggestion and downloaded the package from MacGimp.org. Worked like a charm. Thanks very much.
