It'd be great if it cost 50 bucks.

To replace short distance travel in cars without looking idiotic. And because George Bush fell off the two-wheeled one.

yeah, 20 mph is deff. not enough, if it went a solid 55, then it would be cool, 55 on 2 wheels is good stuff. Then again 125 on a bike is even better.

Looks a lot cooler then a regular Segway, but I can do all of that on my mountain bike and its a lot cheaper and better for my health.

Who wants to bet that it'll cost more than $5k?
No thanks.

Smooth wheels == no traction, how stupid is that. They show it as if you're going to take it out in the woods...
I guess it would work for people in urban areas who need to get around but can't bike? I dunno. Waste of money. It's a concept right now so they can gauge people's reactions, I bet.

Give it a few more years and it should sell. Baby boomers are getting old...they'll want something cool (ie. cooler than a wheel chair) to travel in.

looks pretty sucky to me. besides, they don't plan on selling it anyway:
"Since Concept Centaur is just thata conceptthey aren't for sale. At the present time, Segway LLC has no plans to manufacture or sell this as a product."

Now if they put a rocket launcher or a gun of some sort on it. Then it'd be cool. The US gov would buy it in droves.
Thats the key my friends. Government contracts.

I think it looks cool. Looks fun to ride. They should develop it more to address complaints like those here.

The only thing this might have over an ATV is that you stand less of a chance of a broken neck if it rolls on you. Ozzy should perhaps look into getting one of these.

It will also be better for the environment than an ATV. Of course, that makes me wonder if there are reasonably priced, 4-cycle ATVs out there. Not that it matters much when you live in a city.

I have seen Segway-like devices with four wheels, but this isn't one of them.

I'll cycle thanks. My bike doesn't run out of electricity, is even better for the environment, can go more places, keeps me fit, doesn't make me look like a nerd and costs a lot less I'll bet.
Of course, if I ever do drive in to a very, very small cul-de-sac I won't be able to turn round like they do with the 4xSegway in that video. Bummer, huh? I think that outweighs its disadvantages!!

I kind of like the idea... but must agree with others... not very practical.
I work 10+ miles away from work... I have biked it a few times, but I get very tired/sweaty.
I wouldn't mind something a little more motorized.
