Oprah's audience base is quite large, so a show on it will make a HUGE difference.

A lot of people buy puppies from pet stores unaware of the type of business they're supporting. Maybe by having Oprah do a show on it, more people will be aware of the problem and will think twice before buying a puppy from a pet store.

Please sign this petition!. They need 20,000 signatures.

Info about puppy mills

Thanks!

Yep, big problem down in the US. Even large chains like PetLand have been known to participate in it.

even though i agree with the cause, online petitions rarely do anything.

Puppy mills produce poor quality puppies anyways. I mean, any serious owner makes an effort to know where their puppies come from.

Think if Oprah was apples spokesperson. Sales would go sky high!

yeah I was reading about this stuff awhile back. Apparently the buyers think that they're perfectly bred because the pups are advertised as being from united states department of agriculture liscensed breeders...which if one thinks about it means nothing more than that they're approved to breed livestock.
There should be regulations for breeders of animals for pets, but that line is not too clear I suppose...
best thing to do is boycott the ****ers.

Dateline once had a show about puppy mills, and they are quite horrible places. Some group infiltrated a mill and took some video. The place would make anyone sick. Poor puppies. Many of them were sick, maimed, or suffered from really bad inbreeding.

Why is it people only care about "cute" animals? No one gives a rats ass the horrid conditions farm animals live in. The mortality rates are insane.

Have you ever hugged a cow? How about one who you eventually butchered and ate.

Its fun to live in the midwest.

I signed, now it has 15,876 signatures. I do love puppies, have always purchased from a reputable breeder.

I hope that Oprah will be able to educate America on the subject of Puppy Mills. It is a terribly sad situation.
