At the 2005 Tokyo Motor Show, Honda presented its DN-01 automatic sports cruiser. The bike features Honda's new-generation hydraulic mechanical transmission, called the the "HFT," or Human Fitting Transmission. The company says HFT provides deft throttle response and stepless shifting, with no mid-corner shifting shocks

Looks pretty sweet, and it's not a Harley-ripoff. Man, I'm sick of those!

Yow!!! That is one HOT bike! It almost makes me want to ride again-but in San Antonio, TX riding is taking your life in your own hands, and the odds are decidedly NOT in the rider's favor.

Yup. Same thing keeps me off street bikes here in beautiful, pastoral New Jersey. I know how good I am on a bike, but what worries me is all the morons in cars that would be surrounding me.

That gives me a funny tingle in my groin... And it's not from the buzz of the engine.

In a word: HOT!

And after one of our recent bike threads here, I went out and bought this:

I looked at the Honda VTXs before buying my Vulcan. The VTX had plastic in a couple of places the Kawasaki had chrome. I liked the Kaw dealer better, as well. I'm sure the VTX is a fine machine, though. The big one looks especially nice.

The OP pic is sweet. Wonder what the price tag will be. DigitalEl's is also pretty sweet. Maybe one of these days, I can talk the missus into letting me have one.

I'm new at this whole bike thing, and I'm really interested in getting one. Any suggestions for a new rider? With gas prices the way they are I'd really love to get something like this for the short trips around town and the occasional drive to home from school (about 30 miles).

First off, take a motorcycle training course!!!!!!! Get licensed and certified before you purchase ANYTHING!!!!!

Secondly, if you're looking to save on gas, you'd be better off buying a moped - something like an Aprilia or Vespa.

I would look at Mopeds except a lot of the driving I do is highway miles. I'm not aware of mopeds on the highways.

Many more shots of the DN-01 here at Raptors & Rockets (one of the best sites for breaking photos!) as well as a bunch of other pics from the Tokyo motorcycle show.
Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!

Man.... it looks like all they did to it was tack on fancy cover. From this angel it looks like a harley style bike with a shiny nose cone.

sorry but this looks NOTHING like a Harley with a fancy cover...it looks totally non-Harley and seems to hold its own in design and innovative features. What Harley can this possibly look like? Please explain.

I think it looks more like a sporty slimmed down Gold-Wing. In a good way.
