Anyone know why my burner (Yamaha 2200 ver 1.D) that works great in Disk Copy doesn't work in iTunes?
Should I wait for the 10.1.2 update?
Or is there a hack to do?

Thanks

I have the same thing and want to know also BTW, are you able to mount CDRW's with the drive? I can't for some reason after I burn them. It just hangs the Finder and nothing else will launch.

I've got a Philips CDRW 800 Series, another third party drive, and iTunes doesn't recognize it.

and thats my one reason for liking Toast - it recognizes my drive, wow check that out what a concept! excuses for Apple? NONE. the Finder allows me to burn data CDs just fine, then iTunes (which has been updated the most recently with 2.0.3) should also.

Kaptain:

Nope, I can't mount CDRWs
They stay in the drive and I have to reboot to take them out!

I use Toast too, but I'd like to be able to burn MP3 cds from iTunes, which MUCH simpler than from Toast...

Bless you soul iNeusch, I too have a Yamaha 220 with the same problem and would very much like for it to work in iTunes. Could you please post directions for a laymen like myself? Thanks.

Thanks a bunch for that hack...it worked! I can't believe that a 2200 series is supported but yet you have to hack the plugin to make it work completely. I can now listen to certain music CD's without restarting as well as read from CDRW dics....THANKS!

I think this is more 10.1.2 than my hack but...

Happy it helped!

Actually since updating to 10.1 certain music CD's wouldn't work at all requiring a restart just to eject it. The CDRW bug as well. Weird but true. Nontheless, it works now and I am def. having a Merry Christmas!
