I agree. I just tried to get some competition going (Team MacNN vs. other teams).

The crickets are deafening.

I just had another computer wake up so I should be speeding up. Watch out for the dust storm that is forming behind me.

It would be nice if announcements could be sent out through boinc to team members letting them know of competitions or even the forums. I think a lot of the users just quit coming here since the activity level is so low. At least reader is still around posting the milestones. Some months those threads are the only active ones.

I will send some water but not enough to clear the windshield. I still have around 900 pending points. You are back ahead of me while I wait for all of the units to validate. I also switched on spinhenge to do a few units over there.

Dear Kevin, you might want to put everything on Einstein. Diverting power now could prove unwise. Just a friendly thought. Oh, and thanks for the water.

Well I guess this is going to take longer then planned since the validator is down.

* admires reader50's substantial Pending page *

Yes, it could take awhile. Maybe I should crunch a SETI unit or three to make up for the time you lost to spinhenge.

I crunched about 24 hours of work there. The pending page is getting very long indeed.

Dust? That means there's drag. Maybe your bloated PC's should go on a diet: may I suggest a strict regimen of OS X?

I crunched 10 units of SETI overnight, that evens things for the time lost to spinhenge. It turns out Shaktai is right on my tail in SETI; something I hadn't been aware of. Might as well make things more difficult for him.

Kevin, if your comps remain as lame as this, I may move enough power to SETI to stay ahead of Shaktai. Looks like it would take only about 5 units per day to keep him under control. After the Einstein validator catches up, I'll think about it some more. The Pending page is getting unreal.

Oops, another Einstein unit just completed. Looks like a good morning, all.

The validator is moving slowly now at least. I have around 2000 points just waiting to be validated. It seems the validator goes through one and I return one. I have one computer that keeps going on and off but it doesn't matter seeing as it takes g4/5's so long to complete one unit.

Validator all caught up.

I'm not feeling very intimidated. Perhaps you're doing something wrong?

Chris Schmelzer may have seen us coming. It might be an artifact of the validator catching up, but his production boost appears to have continued well past that effect.

We are staying pretty even in production. One of my computers is MIA and I don't have easy access to it being 300 miles from it. I know I was having connection problems the other day and went into a week backoff and I'm guessing that computer has done the same.

Nice power you have turned on reader. Too bad einstein is down again. I may be moving until everything is sorted out since the project seems to be going down on a regular basis.

Kevin, this is your big chance. Since Predictor is back, I need to benchmark it for milestones & power estimates. You'll only be facing my Pending page, which is admittedly impressive right now.

I'll be over there anywhere from 5-10 days, so make the most of it.

I have 2 days of work to do for spinhenge right now. I have helped move the team up a bit over there. I'm going to wait until einstein comes up fully as I have been having tons of trouble just getting to the website. The servers are suppose to be fixed soon then I will be back.

It would be neat if d2ol stats could be replaced with another project that we are active in. I know you are all busy just something to think about and maybe do in the future when someone gets time. D2OL is up and running again with a new agent if anyone is interested. The project managers now seem to be active in the project and open to suggestions to improve the agent.

You have 343 days reader. I lost a mac and it won't be coming back since it is fried. My windows computer is running rosetta until I break 100k then I may switch back. Rosetta is starting to do some very interesting things so I may keep crunching there.

I'm back to benching Predictor - the previous bench effort was a bust. Also, it's threatening to get hot around here. I'm not willing to A/C crunch boxes, so my crunching stops during the summer months.

I take it your dual G5 is the fried one. What happened to it?

I wish I had a dual G5. It was the powerbook which has been on its last leg since Sept. I will probably be getting another laptop this summer.

A/C heck I have had it on several times in the last week. I had to turn the A/C on last week when temps hit the mid 80's and the temp inside my apartment was 90. Since then I have had the A/C on for lower temps but high humidity.

Forgot it was a superdrive, hard drive and logic board failure.
