Hi,

I've had my Powerbook Ti G4 1ghz Superdrive for just over a year now and it's been great.

Just today I tried burning a CD from the Finder and it wouldn't burn. I've never had this happen ever. I'm running OS 10.2.8.

The CD would spin up quickly say burning and then verifing and then stop and give me Error Code 6 or Error Code 3. Out of interest I tried it from I-Tunes and it gave me a buffer underrun warning. I did find that I could burn stuff at 6x or slower..i think my drive is an 8x CD write. Funny enough I tried Imation brand CD's and it has worked fine. The other 2 that I tried, Sony and Generic, didn't work but have worked in the past.

Any ideas???

This is a very well documented error in the iTunes threads at Apple discussions.
One of those ones where there is a number of fixes that do and don't work for different users.
Have a look there for plenty of suggestions to try.

Thanks. I will give it a try. I'm worried though since it extends beyond just burning in iTunes. But I will have a look none the less.
