hello,

i was wondering if anyone knows of an apllication/konfabulator widget etc. that enables me to see my current network status on my desktop.

by network status i basically mean, what you see when you clcik the network tab on system preferences. even a little sphere showing the colours will suffice...

thank you for your help...

MenuMeters might be a little of what you're looking for. It isn't displayed on the desktop, but in the top menubar ... it does not display exactly what you're looking for but it gives you easy access to network data

may be for you.
Colors can be changed + there are skins, and this little gizmo can be floated around the desktop.

I use a Konfabulator widget called Network Info. It has a colored dot similar to the ones on the system prefs screen, but only one. So you'd know if your network was connected or not, but not for each individual type of connection. It also displays a few other things like your IP address.

Here's another vote for MenuMeters. Even if you use it in addition to another app that does exactly what you want. I use it for CPU usage, RAM usage, and network traffic and I find it difficult to use the computer without it running.

I tried it out and I kinda like it. There are too many things in it at the same time, but you can have it only display what you want to see. I like it ..
