Wow.

I can't believe the last post in this thread (prior to THIS one, of course) is a month old. Let's see some MacBook photos!!! (I'll be purchasing either a MB or MBP in about a week...if it ends up being a MB, you'll definitely get some good photos here)

You definitely won't regret it, same as mine only black instead of white.

That green room is awesome! It looks like the kind of place you could easily spend hours on end in (and I'm sure that's what happens). Very comfortable looking.

I gotta go watch HGTV now.

Any suggestions as to how I might better organize all this stuff on such a small workspace (small desks in my dorm)

I have the iCurve at work and love how it levels (pretty much) my MBP screen to an external monitor's. Check out some of Griffin's products for a small footprint.

You could get that stand plus build a small platform and painting it, to set your monitor and the iCurve both on about 6" high from desk to top of platform, and about 50" long depending on desk length, and is half the desk width or less depending on preference, then buy and external keyboard use MBP in closed lid mode, have speakers sitting on platform.
For an on hands approach.

Very nice mjames! What are you using to hang your headphones on. I've been looking for something to hang on HD600 on for ages and that looks like just the thing.

The little holder came with my 595s, not sure if you can order it separately, but it came from Sennheiser! Thanks for the nice words, guys.

Well after trolling these forums for a long ass time I figured might as well sign up and throw in my own pics. Unfortunately since I just recently moved in with the girlfriend and her apartment is only so big. There is no place for me to set up a desk. As it is I just have the MBP and blackbook hanging out on the ottoman. Every now and then ill hook one of them up to the 42 Sharp. Oh and thats the gf's blackbook hanging out on the back of the couch charging.

MacBook 13" on a Dell 1905FP. Just put in 4GB of Crucial (2GB x2) - works great. Gonna have to get a film cover for the top, bottom and palm rest's and a case for it.

The thing to the right is a Lexicon Omega to output the audio via S/PDIF to JBL LSR4328p's.

2 days ago, my local Best Buy finally started selling Mac's, so I've been able to look at a lot of them and try out a 2.16 GHz 1 GB MacBook. Beats the crap out of my iBook. I love the screen. I love the speed. I love the magnetic latch. You guys are lucky.

Though personally, I would prefer a MacBook Pro, because I'm way too much of a gamer.
I have returned... 2020 MacBook Air - 1.1 GHz Quad-Core i5 - 16 GB RAM

Here's my setup. Five external drives are mounted underneath the desk on a shelf I built: 250GB for Time Machine and downloads, 250GB for TV Shows, 500GB for Movies, and two 1TB drives for full DVD rips.

Computer: 15.4" 2.33GHz MBP w/2GB RAM, 256MB ATI x1600
Speakers: Klipsch Pro Media Ultra
Mice: BT Mighty Mouse, wired Mighty Mouse, and BT MX1000 (not being used currently, but I use Steermouse with it)
Printer: HP OfficeJet 6210
Routers: Also under the desk, I have both the teardrop 802.11g AEBS, and the fast ethernet 802.11n AEBS. There's also a 802.11g MB and Mac Mini in the house,so they run off the teardrop, which is plugged into the n-AEBS with an ethernet cable, allowing the n-AEBS to run at full 802.11n speeds.

I also have the video out of the DVR run to the old Dell 2001FP monitor with audio running to the Klipsch speakers, so if I want to play Wii or 360 I can still keep an eye on the TV in case a game is on. The speakers have an aux-in jack on the front.

Lastly, GO HOKIES! ACC CHAMPS!

Sometimes I feel like typing on a full keyboard (when using the numeric pad, for instance) and I figured it'd be convenient. Plus, having a lighter mouse with no batteries is a nice change of pace every now and then.

As for the BT MX1000, I generally only use it in XP for games, but I don't even have a Boot Camp partition right now. The only PC games that I still have any interest in are X-WIng and TIE Fighter, which will run under Parallels, and Knights of the Old Republic, of which I have the Mac version. You can't see my CH FighterStick and Pro Throttle, or the 7 and 4 port USB hubs that are sitting behind the MBP on the back edge of the desk.

It's a Santa Rosa Blackbook (though its not in the pic).
Just got the Dell 2407WFP-HC tonight. Also I can't say enough about how much I LOVE the Apple wireless keyboard and mouse.

I have one as well and I love it, although I haven't tried the mighty mouse yet. Is it worth the purchase?

I highly recommend both the wireless keyboard and the wireless mighty mouse. As you can see in the picture it completely clears up the table, it feels great to have the keyboard and mouse not tied to the computer. I used to use the wired mighty mouse and the wireless one feels the same (a little heavier because of the batteries but I much prefer it over the wired one).

You know, I was thinking, at some point I'm going to get my Airport Extreme N router up (it's complicated but I don't have my Extreme set up yet) so then I can print wirelessly and be completely wireless on the net, the keyboard and mouse are already wireless, the only cables I'll have to plug in are the monitor and power.

I read these forums all the time, and while I don't have a Powerbook anymore, I do have two laptops, one running Vista and one running Ubuntu. I wonder if I'll get laughed at for posting the pics?

I tried running Vista ... twice. Once when it was first released (ran it for about a month and went back to XP) and once about 6 weeks ago, but went back to XP after only a week. You have more patience than myself.

As soon as I buy my Powerbook replacement I'm done with Windows (other than in VMs)
- MacBook Air M2 16GB / 512GB
- MacBook Pro 16" i9 2.4Ghz 32GB / 1TB
- MacBook Pro 15" i7 2.9Ghz 16GB / 512GB
