FoxNews is now reporting that his manager said that he died of natural causes. I guess we'll have to wait and see how this plays out.

The original article (from the Bangkok English-language paper "The Nation") had this:

Police investigation showed that he hung himself with a rope, the kind that is used with curtains.
Police said he was dead for not less than 12 hours and found no sign of fighting and assaults.
We'll have to see how this plays out.

FoxNews and MSNBC are now reporting that the death was possibly a suicide.

I don't think it was proper for the Bride to kill Bill. She got a lot of sweet revenge. She didn't have to take the final step and explode his heart. . .

This was pretty shocking news.

When you can snatch this pebble from my hand, while wearing a tutu, with an orange in your mouth, suspended by rope from a cupboard...

... only then shall I whip you with my rubber chicken.

Yeah, it's a great album.

Thud is my personal favorite, although the Shaming of the True (completed posthumously) is pretty sensational, too.

I doubt it was suicide, more likely auto erotic asphyxiation at the hands of an inexperienced minor.

anyhoo, RIP David.

The movie he was working on was called Stretch. Maybe he was using the rope on his genitals to get into character.

From the Wiki on a Canadian(?) study
The great majority of known erotic asphyxial deaths are male; among all known cases in Ontario and Alberta from 1974 to 1987, only one out of 117 cases was female.[3] Some individual cases of women with erotic asphyxia have been reported.[12][13][14][15] The mean age of accidental death is mid-20s,[3][16], but deaths have been reported in adolescents[17][18][19] and in men in their 70s.[16][7]

I don't understand self destructive sexual fetishes by seemingly intelligent people. That is, if it does turn out to be the autoerotic asphyxiation thing.

Death may have been a tragic accident. How sad:

I felt pretty guilty for honking at an old (read: ancient) man today. I was practically idling behind him as he did 10 mph on a one-lane service road for about 1/2 mile (or maybe it just felt that long), looking around in every conceivable direction. I finally honked, and it apparently scared the crap out of him. He jerked the wheel a little out of shock.

If it was possible to die from embarrassment, this would have killed him.
