I have a 1 year old MacBook running Leopard and am getting annoyed by the application "Installer". Everytime I boot up my laptop it will show Installer on the dock and it will be the application that is currently open. When examining the logs within installer I don't see anything obvious where this is a problem. I've gone into installer while it is on the dock and tried to make it so it won't open up (hide, etc) and nothing seems to work. For all of you Mac experts out there, can someone please point me in the right direction here? I'd like to keep Installer from popping up everytime I start up my Mac.
Thanks!

Check your Login Items:
System Preferences -> Accounts -> Login Items (tab)
Installer may have gotten dragged here at some point. An install package here might also launch Installer on each login.
Is Installer only there after reboots, not after log-out/log-in? If so, look for something in MacHD/Library/Startup Items/

I just checked:
System Preferences -> Accounts -> Login Items (tab)
and Installer is in there! Thank you for showing me this. Do I now delete it out of there?

... from your Login Items. Please don't delete Installer for real.
