1) Metropolis
2) Fight Club
3) Koyaanisqatsi, Powaqqatsi & hopefully Naqoyqatsi
4) Brazil
5) Magnolia

BTW Koyaanisqatsi is a Hopi Indian word meaning "Life out of balance".
The film visually interprets this meaning in the most amazing way - it will change you.

The Muppet Movie. I dunno, movies don't really affect my sense of the world. There have been a few documentaries, though.

got to echo dogma ... damn good movie, even better argument about religion

matrix - palys to the what-if crowd

MP: Search for the Holy Grail

the series band of brothers and earth to the moon- what feats we are really capable of

Starship troopers - the book was an intresting government essay... the movie had boobies, guns, aliens and explosions- everything a amn needs in a movie.

I have known a lot of people to really hate that movie. Most of them have 3 complaints: it is very long, very boring at times, and it does not always make sense. I agree with the first two, but not the last.

Really you have to sit through the movie more than once to see the "big picture." The movie is all about irony; the three short stories at the very beginning setup up the idea that very odd "things" happen, and every day, that make you question if they happened at all. The rest of the three hour movie is multiple stories lines that merge into a single one in a long chain of unexplainable and unexpected ironical coincidences. The rather strange ending make you think "what the ***!!!, how could that happen?" That is the whole point: it has happened... stranger things have happened... everyday.
