I guess I wouldn't be considered a professional, hardware is as follows:

Quicksilver DP800

Ti667 Combo

iBook 500 Dual USB

Lombard 400

Performa 6400

Apple II GS

Edit: As far as usage goes, I gave the iBook to my sister, and the Lombard sits in the corner with a bad screen clutch. I use the QS and TiBook daily, and the IIGS to play Oregon Trail and Number Munchers from time to time.

  • 266 imac grape with 96mg ram (will upgrade soon)
350 imac with original 64mg ram( will upgrade soon)
500 imac snow with 384mb ram
300 ibook blueberry with 192mg ram
I let my sis borrow the grape, my mom use the imac 350 (temporarilly down because my nephew put coins in the slot loading cd drive) I use the snow but will sacrifice it and share it with my sis and my mom, I use the ibook at school and i let my girlfriend borrow it whenever and her wonderfull daughter.
Definately not a pro, but I am interested in everything imac/ibook consumer models in trouble shooting and repairing them.
At least at the Asylum, they treat me with respect.

Up untill recently, I "regularly" used my old Performa 6200 for printing purposes, because I had an old Color StyleWriter 2500. Now that I have a new USB printer that I can use with my G3, I don't use it anymore. However, when I get a new Mac later this year, I may also keep using my G3 for extra things (I don't feel like I want multiple Macs as a "hobby", but rather I just somehow like the idea of being able to use two computers at the same time ).

TiBook 667/512 RAM/48G
233 MHz iMac, 320 RAM

I'm certainly not a professional, but I run a campus satirical publication called The Purple Cow. That creaky iMac runs Photoshop 6, PageMaker 7, and Office 2001 to accomplish its life's purpose.

How many Macs do you guys have? what models?
My current macs are:

1. MacSE:

My first mac. The Mac that started it all, if you will. My dad bought it
in 1987. I still play MacConcentration, Airborne and Armor Alley on
it from time to time. I tried to play Test Drive 3 and Ancient Art of
War recently, but it looks like my disks no longer work. It is running
System 6.0.8.

2. PowerMac 8100

My Dad's mac. It is the 110 MHz model and has 200 MB of Ram
and the 2MB VRam PDS video card. I wrote my first book using
this machine. Still a decent system for playing Route 66 or
Thunderdome in Marathon 2. It is running MacOS 8.1.

3. PowerMac 9500

My Brother's mac. Its has a 466 G3, a USB card, two Adaptec
2940s and a Voodoo3. Quite a nice machine (even for UT). It is
running MacOS 8.6.

4. PowerBook G3 Pismo

My laptop. It is the 400 MHz model, with 512 MB Ram and a Airport
Card. The pismo is perhaps the best mac I've ever owned. I've
used it daily for almost two years and have never had a problem
with it. Its been around the world (literally) and has survived with
hardly a scratch. It is running MacOS X 10.1.2.

5. PowerMac G4 Sawtooth

My desktop. It is the 400 MHz model, with 1 GB of Ram and a
GeForce 2 MX (64 MB) card. It is a great machine (esp. for games
and development). I'll probably make it my OpenBSD firewall when
the G5 systems come out (how can I possibly resist a G5?) It is
running MacOS X 10.1.2. My mom got me a Apple 15" Studio
Display (LCD) for this computer last christmas.

Other Macs I've owned:

1. PowerBook 180

My first powerbook. My mom bought it for me when I started
college. I used this machine on a daily basis for four years. I even
programmed java (1.0.2) under MacOS on this machine.

2. Centris 650

My first "color" mac. I bought this machine used using the money
from my summer job during my junior year in college. I used it for
the next three years, after which I gave it to my dad who used it for
another two years before upgrading to the 8100.

3. PowerMac 7600

I had two of these. They were my first PCI macs. One had a G3 266
upgrade, the other had a dual 604e 200s. I miss the dual 604e
machine, there is something magically about SMP. These systems
both ran LinuxPPC.

My old 7600 came out of the closet recently and is now my Mp3 server, hooked up to the stereo with a $3 cable. Using OS 9, I programmed the function keys to different play lists and I run it headless under the VCR. The neighbours love it.

My G3/400 B&W tower is looking decidedly old after last week (but fortunately in a retro-ginchy kinda way).

I've had four Macs in the last year:

-Powerbook G3 Bronze
-Power Mac Dual-450
-Ti-400
-Ti-550

I sold the first three though and only have a Ti-550 now along with a home built superfast PC. If I don't need the PC then I'd either get the new iMac or the next revision Ti-Book but the problem I have is that I like gaming (which is far better on my Athlon), I need stable Speedtouch USB drivers (OSX kernal panics with the current drivers) and I like the fast and stable interface Win2K offers. When these problems are fixed on OSX then I might go Apple full time again.

I'm a computer professional but don't use Macs in my profession...

At home though I have:
- iMac DV SE 500mhz
- B&W G3 400mhz (salvaged from a "garage sale" from work for $100!)
- Gave my mother-in-law my original bondi iMac (233mhz) to replace a very old Macintosh of hers.. Still in the family!

In my closet:
- Apple IIc I found in a garbage can in an alley (don't ask why I was hanging out in the alley.. I don't know!)

My machines that are still in use:
  • G4 Dual 800/17" Apple LCD - my main powerhouse on the desktop
  • PowerMac 8500/150 - still creaking and groaning but a great machine
  • Dual USB iBook 500 - my portable powerhouse. This machine is just fun!

These machines aren't in the daily rotation, but they still are used at least once a month for something.
  • Macintosh LC III - my family's first real mac. I can still remember going to Atlanta to pick it up. I played with it for hours on end.
  • Apple IIgs - my family's first Apple computer. I love playing Sub Hunt on this thing.
  • MacTV - anyone remember these things? Pretty sweet and I picked this one up for $25 at an estate sale. Still works fine.
Yeah, about those TPS reports, didn't you get the memo?
