Ars have an article on it - apparently it's just some rebranding (new logos) etc for AT&T. Nothing for non-US iPhones.

Well, there's also reports of it adding support for ATT's micro-cells.

Which leads me to my next stupid question... What's a microcell? Something out of Redmond?

Basically a thing that uses your broadband connection to make a miniature cell antenna in your house. Then, when you're at home, calls go through that instead, so they do not count against your minutes because you're not using an ATT tower. Plus you get better reception indoors.

It gives AT&T customers the privilege of paying for a device to boost the weak AT&T signal, thus making it usable. Oh, and you get to pay monthly for the privilege of having the microcell, as well. So AT&T will be charging you more to make something you're already paying for usable.

Nah, I'm not bitter.

I thought it was a one time fee of $249. But it still counts against your minutes.
