I've updated to Mac OS 9 since the beginning of Y2K, from Mac OS 8.5. Under Mac OS 8.5, which has introduced 32-bit icons, even when my monitor's depth was set in thousands of colors, the Finder icons were still in 32 bits (for example I saw the gradient of the folders).
However, under Mac OS 9, while I'm in thousands of colors, the icons are shown in 8 bits, as if I had set my monitor to 256 colors, and can only be in 32 bits if I set it to millions of colors. What's stranger is that when I select an element (its icon darkens), its icon becomes 32 bits (I remark its gradient); as soon as I deselect it, it becomes again 8 bits.
Who could tell me more about this problem and explain to me how to fix it ? Thanks a lot.
