If any of you have bought a customized Powerbook from the Apple Store online, I'd like to know how long it took to process and ship the order.

Can anyone help me out? I'm just trying to decide where to get it shipped, since I'll be out of town for a short period of time. Ideally, I'd like to have it shipped to where I'm going, but don't want to be gone before it gets there.

Thanks.

Mine was built and shipped in a matter of two days if I remember, and it was a custom 17" powerbook. Upgraded video card and hard drive. So I guess it should come pretty quick.. I'd recommend getting it shipped to your 'alternate' address. Hope this helps

It really depends on what kind of stock they have. My BTO 15" took like 1.5 weeks to build IIRC and another few days to ship (like 3) with standard shipping. I believe you can always change the shipping address if you see that you wont get it in time at wherever you are...

touche wuzup101, there's obviously the variable of what's in stock. pray to a diety or two for good luck mtsfestivus, couldn't hurt.

You can keep a close eye on the process too. The order status page tells you almost everything except the name of the guy who slaps the packaging tape on. (It's probably a machine anyway)

Good luck with your order!
