My iBook G4 mouse goes crazy every once in a while. I called apple and they know about the issue and can fix it. I have to send to apple it get it fixed instead of having a apple care certified place do it.
Has anyone else had to do this.. how long did it take?

My touchpad only went crazy once, I accidently dribbled some water on it and I wiped it immediatelyh with my shirt and then it went crazy but I just restarted and it hasn't happened since.

Ah, I just logged on to see if anyone had any info on this very problem. Darnit. Hate to send the iBook all the way back to Apple for this. ;-(
It's gotten worse. It seems to happen if I put my wrist on the left wrist-rest.
Be very curious as to how long it takes to get the iBook back.

I don't want to jinx myself, but I just carefully and thoroughly cleaned the touchpad, and right now it's working perfectly for the first time in a week.
Knock on wood....

Sometimes grease and dirt causes touchpads to spaz out. Perhaps that was the cause of the problem?

Seems the likely candidate. It looked clean, and I'd wiped it before, but cleaning it with a wet cloth made it work perfectly again.

my track pad had been spazing once in while and cleaning used to fix it, but now it just seems to be getting worse and worse. And your right about the left palm rest thing too. I think this is something more than just dirt and grease
