Hello

I am having a very strange problem. I would like to boot from the MacOS9.1 CD to partition my HDD and reinstall 9.1 and OSX. However, I can not boot from the os9.1 (by either pressing c at startup or by choosing the CD as a startup disk.

Any idea how to get this to work? My machine is a G4-466 with 640Mb of RAM, OS9.1 and OSX 10.0.4.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Nich

Ive had similar problems but only with cds that i burned...is this a burned os 9 cd?

if so have u booted from it before?

Try holding down the option key as soon as you turn on your computer and see if the cd is available as a startup disk. If its not then try a cd that you know is bootable just to make sure your cd rom is working. if another cd can boot but the os 9 one cant you'll probably need to make a new os 9 cd.

mmm...
I have used the OS9.1 CD that shipped with OSX. Holding the option key at startup does not help. I have checked if I can boot from another CD and it is fine.
