Can I designate drive that VM uses??

Can I tell virtual memory to use a specific drive on my system or does it always use the drive I start up from?
I'm thinking of getting an additional 256 Mb DIMM just because it's so cheap right now but that would take me to 640 Mb and I'm worried I'll start running out of space on my startup disk - it's only 4 Gig.
OS 9.0.4 G3/300Mhz/Beige MT/384 Mb/USB enabled.

Great! Is it somewhere in the memory control panel? Unfortunately I have several apps that want VM turned on. I keep it set at 1 Mb greater than my physical RAM.

Right above the field where you set the size of your Virtual Memory in the Memory Controlpanel you will find a popup-menu from which you can choose the designated drive.

They may say they want it turned on, but turn it off and you will see a very nice speed boost. Just try it, I bet you'll like it.
