seriously, they always seemed to blow it when I want them to win but when I *know* they are going to lose (like when they got the run) they somehow pull it around.

I will have to admit, it was a heartfelt victory. Now if only the A's were the ones they were playing in the 'series...

I'm so pissed.

Tony LaRussa and his "Clutch in October" recruit, Tino Martinez, lost this series for the Redbirds. LaRussa should have pulled Morris after the 8th and let Kline start the 9th (MUCH LESS PRESSURE). He allowed Rick White to pitch 3 innings yesterday (look where that got us). Game 1, he left Morris in there to rot and stretched Crudale. Oh man, don't even get me started on Tino. I think Redbird pitchers had more hits than Tino. What a useless bastard.

But the REAL bottomline is that Giants got the clutch hits and the Cards didn't. Cards clearly outplayed the Giants every game except game 1 and were rewarded with a 1-3 record for their efforts. Tino himself left 17 men on base in the postseason. I think we were like 1/16 or something with runners in scoring position just TONIGHT; with the caliber bats that we have in the lineup thats absolutely ridiculous.

Two final thoughts. 1) I agree with walking Bonds, but I don't agree with hanging a breaking ball down the middle to Santiago. 2) Giants fans should all write thank you notes/cards to Alex Cintron for screwing up the Redbird lineup...I can't help but think what it would have been if Rolen was in; he was really seeing the ball well.

Go Halos.

GO ANAHEIM!!!

Yay! You don't know how many times I've gone to their games without a single thread of hope. Actually, I don't think a single Angels fan actually cares if we win the world series, but damn it, we're THERE!

The I-5 series. At least we don't have to put up with the Yankees again.

The Braves were OK, just lost a lot in the fall classic. They got there every year with the same talent, didn't go crazy like George and the boys in NY.

Well coming from a Dejected Yankees Fan who doesn't mind seeing them in there every year, I will have to say GO Angels. They played there hearts out and are finally in the Series after 41 years. I guess the Red Sox are going to have to wait a little longer.

C'mon. The Angels have never even been to the big show. They need to earn some dues before they win it all.

Giants have been denied 3 times. The Giants are extremely hot right now. They have the edge.

How are the Angels going to handle Barry?

Barry gets to play in the World Series. Definitely worth the price of admission. He deserves his shot and I hope they pitch to him.

Cards deserved a better chance to win, they got screwed by horrible managing. I got no love for the Cards, but I hate to see players suffer at the hands of coaches/managers.

Angels are a great, gutsy, no-frills, blue-collar team and it's pretty amazing to see them go this far. I'd cheer for them in the Series, but I just can't bring myself to cheer for the city of Anaheim. I mean, Anaheim??? Yeeech.

I wanted the Twins to win that series just for the F-U factor to Bud Selig. That man deserves a stroke. I can't believe he had the gall to attend game 1 in Minnesota. How'd they let his spiteful a$$ off the plane? Baseball is very quickly becoming a game that is really hard to give a rat's a$$ about and much of that blame rests squarely on Selig. A complete and total louse.

Go Giants!!

I would think the loss of Rolen was a bigger blow.

And as for Tino, his defense is solid, but he will go into long slumps.
Were you counting on him carry the team through the playoffs?

No, but I was expecting more than 2 hits.

Good. Be happy just to get there.

Giants fans need to WIN. We haven't won since they moved to SF in the 50's.
