Hi
I would like to know if I can connect my external HD firewire 400 to a Firwire 800 connector. Of course without the speed of the 800 ... But is there an adaptor or something that could let me do that ? I only have one firewire port on the back of the G5 and it is already used by the cinema display ... there is a FW hub behind the screen, but I suppose it won't be powerful enough for the external HD ...

Thanks

firewire 800 is compatible with firewire 400 devices. i can't seem to find any right now, but there are cables/adaptors that will convert an 800 cable to a 400 connector.

found one: firewire 800 to 400 adaptor ($9.85)

i'm not sure if this is the cheapest one out there. this is just the first one i found.

Nonsense. Plug the drive in there.
