Hi all

I will buy soon a macbook but I have a question about gaming. I don't play very often, but I'de like to play from time to time. Plus I would love to play on FlighSimulator on Windows.

Has someone already tried some games ? And FlightSim ? I would appreciate some feedback.

Thanks !

It can play a lot of older games that aren't too intensive, but ussually on low settings. This is the one thing that I am nervous about. Because I hardly ever play games, but then again, what if I got back into gaming? I'd be screwed.

What about games like WarCraft 2 or StarCraft? Will these games play well with Rosetta?
Honestly, I will try some FPS games, but as I am also a busy fellow, simple games like those mentioned above really serve me well.

I would expect WarCraft 2 and StarCraft to work fine, since they don't require any 3D graphics whatsoever. If my old 333 MHz G3 iMac could handle them, I have no doubt that they will run fine on modern hardware through Rosetta.

Skypat, I just read this post and came to think of yours.

I've installed the dual boot using Apple's BootCamp and now have a fully functional XP!!

Graphics are typical for a PC with an ATI X1600 128megs VRAM video card..I have the iMac 17" 1.83 Dual-Core..

Nice little bootloader too!! switches seemlessly..

Only game I've installed so far..just to test...was Flight Simulator and it flies like a champ..

I'll put up a couple screenshots a little later..

Hmm, looks like I misunderstood your post. I was referring to cla's post, in which he mentions the post talking about the Intel iMac.

Anyways, no problem, now I get it
